Today we went on the Reichstag Tour. The roof patio and dome of the Reichstag Building offers spectacular views of the parliamentary and government district and Berlin’s sights. We each had a personal guide to the dome with headsets and learned the most important facts about the Reichstag Building and its surroundings, the German Bundestag and the work of Parliament. After the tour we went for a quick coffee break at the Berlin Pavilion to keep us going for the next half of the days adventure. We went to see big-time illustrator Christoph Niemann. His work has appeared on the covers of The New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times Magazine and American Illustration. I loved learning about his creative process and seeing some of his work at his studio. He showed us his newest work and we got to see all of his apps that he had created. I was in awe when he demonstrated the app that made the New Yorker magazine cover “come to life”. I was very pleased to have had the chance to meet this brilliant artist and take notes on how to think visually and get my “creative juices” flowing.

Here is a link to see a preview video of New Yorker Magazine App, created by Christoph Niemann: https://youtu.be/r5ziOSjXdo4
